Doctors thought that you couldn’t grow new brain cells, so as old cells died you became more stupid. They now know that the more adult continuing education, the more new brain cells you get. You can even delay Alzheimer’s disease by keeping your brain active.

But old people keep forgetting things! That’s true, because what you remember best are startling, new, shocking things. To an old person it’s a case of “been there, done that”. Nothing is new or shocking.

However, you often have to learn boring things, and there you have an advantage. Seniors trounced the kids in a test of memorizing meaningless words. My book about exams will show you how to make your adult continuing education more exciting, which cuts kid’s advantage over your memory.

Just as your three advantages apply to study, they apply to exams. Were you sick with nerves in your school exams? Your life-career depended on your performance. Now it would be nice to pass, but your experience tells you that you will survive failure, and land on your feet again…so less nerves.

Unless children have wealthy or helpful parents they can’t afford resources that you can afford. For instance, they can afford my free report on writing essays, but not my eBook about passing exams. If you live in a country with timed local phone calls, kids may not be able to do much research on the internet because it costs too much.

There are ways to become a lightning calculator and ways to develop a super memory, and you can afford them all. If you want to learn a language you can probably even afford to get a “superlearning” course that teaches you the language in only fifteen hours.

All right, you have advantages, but why should you bother with adult continuing education?

In modern times you can only expect to keep one job for a short time. You are going to need to retrain for your next job.

Self-employment. You can’t be sacked if you are self-employed, but you can go broke. It is best to develop your home business part-time until it is earning you twice as much as your job. Then if you are retrenched from your job you won’t care.

Then you won’t need to worry about adult continuing education any more will you? Oops… you will need to keep learning even more when you have your own business. For instance, you are going to have to learn bookkeeping unless you can afford an accountant to do the work. If you have to employ people, you will need to learn the laws that apply.

Parents no doubt realize that it is important to educate their children. When school lets out for the summer, education is often the farthest thing from your childs mind. While a break from school is needed, children are still encouraged to continue their education during the summer. Education should always be a part of summer vacations. It should be interesting and fun for your child, and not too hard. After all, your children do deserve a break.

Vacation Education

Sometimes the fact that vacations can be educational experiences is unclear to people. It is possible and many vacations are not only filled with learning, but fun and excitement. When it comes to educational tourist attractions, many parents automatically think of a museum. Science museums, history museums, and art museums are located all around the world. How about going on a road trip and visiting as many museums and other sites along the way? It’s always fun to drop in on small town museums. They always surprise you with what they have in their collections. Plus it’s usually free, or quite inexpensive! If your child has a certain interest (maybe in dinosaurs), it would be a great idea to take them to a dinosaur museum. Try to choose museums that are designed with kids in mind. Museums that are the most fun for children are ones that have a certain degree of interactivity. Things like video, puzzles, audio and things that the kids can pick up and play with. Those types of museums are always the most fun!

If any nation, society or charitable institution is setting up a target to eradicate poverty then it should start it with providing the facility of free education. Education is the necessity, the key that will unlock the golden gates of the future. It empowers, enlightens people and enables them to understand the circumstances and take appropriate actions accordingly.

It’s a well known thing that knowledge is power. If so much power and importance is invested in knowledge which can be gained through education then a civil society must see that all of their populations do have access to this empowering tool. To think that literacy rate in every society or country will remain cent percent is to wish for an ideal situation. But striving to achieve that target should not be forgotten for a second.

It’s the poor people who remains deprived of education, as they are not allowed the circumstances in life to choose education. They have to work instead of going to school or letting their kids go to school. Fire of hunger definitely overpowers the fire of knowledge. How would they make their both ends meet is a bigger concern for them than complete the schooling. The kids of the poor people also don’t get the chance to choose the path of education as they too don’t have that situation at home that they could afford education. It seems better to them to support the family instead of pursuing school. If free education is made available to them, then they will for sure be driven towards the path of education.

Some of these kids do the work of an adult to earn money to support the finances of the family. But lots of these poor children get diverted to anti-social activities. Some of them choose to work honestly but others choose to become small time thieves, pick- pockets. These small time crimes will lead them to do bigger and worse crimes later in life. So, it’s better to check these things at an early age. And it can be done through one way only: that’s by providing free education.

A developing nation like India with over a billion population does need to act fast to provide free education to poor children. But the state administration’s initiatives needs to be supported by charitable organizations or by some other noble way to establish more and more schools where free education is made available to the deprived children.

Education In The Middle Ages
To test and create the writing spirit among the 4th or 5th graders, medieval era can be of great inspiration. As among the fourth and fifth graders in Chandler, Arizona activities given underneath provided the students with enough information on Middle Ages and also came out to be a great topic to test their personal researching and writing skills.

That could easily be done by reading them a book regarding Middle Ages and assigning them with some topics for which they would have to do their own personal research and then later on compile their research’s raw material into an organized form.

From the study of middle ages, students can also be organized in groups to study for the history of technologies that were there and what have they turned out to be in the modern ages. They can go throw the small inventions like horse and a wheel up to the massive inventions like blast furnace and arrange some of the major inventions on the time line starting from 500 A.D to 2000 A.D.

Study of middle ages and history can also help planning out the future. Kids can also be arranged in the activity of studying the history of kingdoms and how they used to predict future, by observing their resources and interests and all other factors, and how they used to plan for future accordingly.

The great words of “The Three Character Scriptures” once said: “If jade is not shaped, it will not become a tool; if man dos not learn, he will not know the meaning [of life].”  For this very reason education has become an important factor in any culture and has developed into many different forms over the years.

First and most importantly, in order to discover the most effective way to promote education, we must realize what education really is and why it is important.  From my perspective, education is a series of understandings, being able to comprehend facts and information.  This will lead to the formation of personal opinions and new methods, which will contribute onto the general collection of knowledge.

This forever building on the foundation of previous discoveries is what separates mental exploration from physical or manual labor.  Manual labor only produces limited and temporary results, but the accumulation of knowledge through education can give you tools which can be used in many forms of application.  In other words, work and physical labor will give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day, but learning and education can equip a man with skills of how to fish.  Understanding “how to fish” is both a major benefit for the man himself and the rest of society.

Learning can allow us to become independent thinkers and have the chance to dig deeper in personal fields of interest; it can also further the overall development of man.  If we do not equip ourselves with the accumulated knowledge of the past, then all of our pursuits will be like running on a treadmill; no real progress will be made.

After establishing the importance of education, the next question would be how we should approach it.  But first, I would like to introduce (what I believe to be) the two major roots to human actions.

There are two main cases when we perform any action: we are pushed to do something by an outside force, or we are pulled towards it by a driving force within ourselves.   “X” is the goal  “O” is ourselves “–>” is a force

-> O X  this is the external force(parents, teachers) exerting their superior power “for our own good”

O -> X  this is the internal force of curiousity driving us toward our goal

When parents plan class after class for their children on the weekend, they are pushing their children towards education.  However, when we are drawn by curiosity to learning; that is the internal pull. In life, there are two types of rewards: the immediate and the eventual. When kids fail to see any immediate rewards from education, they rebel against it. As a result, many parents and teachers push them even harder, causing them to dislike education even more.  This eventually turns into an endless cycle which ends up frustrating everyone, and the kid does not make any progress. In less extreme cases, kids often learn to satisfy their parents’ requests, and so rely on others to encourage them and motivate them.  But when the time comes for them to make their own decisions, they discover they have no interest in learning and turn off the path. From these examples we can conclude that too much “push” from outer forces doesn’t benefit the student.

There is a Chinese saying, “Interest is the best teacher”.  So the best way to promote education would be for children to become interested in learning.  But waiting for children to find their own interest in education is too time-consuming, and children tend to veer off and find more enjoyable activities.  I believe parents should push their children to explore many different fields of activity and learning, to stimulate their curiosity, and to introduce the importance of education, but to allow them to motivate themselves afterward.

As an essential shaper of the future, education and its effective application is a highly discussed theme, so pitfalls and detours along the way are natural problems we must face.  For example, in recent years, education has been reduced to short-term rewards in the form of scores and points.

The grading system found in schools can show what happens when we focus on the details and not on the long run. When we try to find the most accurate grading system, we forget why comparing and contrasting are important in the first place.

I believe the creator of exams originally meant for them to be a useful tool to assess students on whether or not they have understood the material. But nowadays learning has regressed into a pursuit of points and marks; people have made quantitative results to be the sole purpose of education.  Parents and teachers encourage students to labor for a few more points, and many schools may list the students with the highest scores.

Although exams can be useful in many ways, scores and numbers can create a hallucinating effect on students.  Scores can’t really reflect everything about a student and how hard they work, and obsessing with a point or two is not necessary.  I believe time can be spent in much better ways.  After all, in the future, I don’t think any of us will remember what grades we received.

. From this example we can see that it is often easy to forget why learning is important in the first place and focus on what we can only see.

Education and ways of learning has played a major role in human history.   It sets the stage for future generations, so it can greatly influence how we will live tomorrow.  For this reason it has become an important subject in many parts of the world.  If we can make decisions concerning educational systems with learning’s original goal in mind, I believe the world would be better off relying on personal interest to spark exploration.  Like Diogenes Laertius once said, “The foundation of every state is the education of its youth.”

Definitely the three most cool and relaxing classes of the school day. Now, how do you suppose it would be to teach this class? Hey, all you would need is a physical education degree and a love for kids. Do you have what it takes?

I wasn’t sure at first what I wanted to attend college for. I knew I needed a higher education to vie in the corporate world, but what would this entail exactly/ In all honesty, I didn’t know if I preferred a history degree or physical education degree. How was I supposed to know anyway? I had never tried either career. Okay, this is actually a good question. It is true that the word “educational” do not often link it to any degree of enjoyment to people but to young kids, they are as fun and as productive as they could possibly be. This time can then be utilized with the students to help them better understand the concepts.
